Deen Kemsley is the Exxon Professor of Accounting at Tulane University. He also conducts corporate training programs throughout the world, working with stock and bond market analysts. Most of all, however, he loves the Lord, so for many years he has looked forward to applying his teaching talents to the witness of Jesus Christ.
Deen began his academic career at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where he earned a PhD in Business. With this social science training he published extensively in the very top finance and accounting journals. His research has stimulated a great deal of interest and played an important role in recent national debates on taxes, dividends, and debt.
Deen began his teaching career at Columbia Business School where he earned the Dean's Teaching Award. A year later, he earned the students' Singhvi Teaching Award for Scholarship in the Classroom - the highest teaching award at Columbia Business School.  He then taught at Yale University for a year where he developed the top-rated elective course at Yale School of Management. When he moved to Tulane in 2004, the students immediately honored him as one of their top MBA professors.
Deen and his wife Kristin are the parents of nine children: six daughters and three sons. They live in the rural environs of Newtown, Connecticut, where he often speaks of Christ to congregations throughout parts of Connecticut and New York.
